More earthy than Angelica Seed, Angelica Root has soothing, sedative qualities that make it good for anxiety, insomnia and nervous fatigue. Phototoxic due to coumarins. Avoid if pregnant.
Antispasmodic and analgesic, it equilibrates the central nervous system. Its main constituent, anethole, can be irritating and cause dermatitis but not usually when properly diluted. It's good for PMS and menopausal symptoms. Do not use on babies or children or if pregnant.
Basil has a sweet, herbaceous aroma and is considered quite safe when the methyl chavicol content is low. It has a broad range of activity in the body and is anti-infectious, analgesic and antibacterial. Do not use on babies or small children.
Fresh and spicy, this essential oil has a wide range of antiviral properties. I find it light and less pungent than other oils containing 1,8 cineole as a constituent. It's terrific as an antibacterial, antiviral and immune support and clears the air in clinical or hospital environments. Do not use on children under the age of 2 or during pregnancy.
Acts as a tonic to the central nervous system and is calming and relaxing. It has a soft orange scent. I use Bergamot in many of my personal blends for its versatility. Photosensitizing so don't go out in the sun after use or into tanning booths.
This one does not have the sharp smell associated with the spice; it's soft and warm. This oil is good for rheumatic pain and works well in the digestive tract. There are no known contraindications.
Warm and spicy. Tends to stay in the background of a blend, peeking out to lend a soft uniqueness. It's anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, carminative and has wonderful digestive properties. It calms the stomach and helps restore appetite. It's often used for cramps, stomach ache and digestion and stimulates the immune system.
A sesquiterpene alcohol with 50% carotol content, Carrot Seed is excellent for all sorts of skin issues including eczema, dry skin and even brown spots. It helps revitalize skin.
