This butter is said to restore flexibility to skina nd reduce the degeneration of skin cells. It's used for dry skin, rashes, blemishes and wrinkles, itching, muscle fatigue and as a moisturizer for rough skin. (I should bathe in it!)
Olive oil is anti-inflammatory. It's heavier than Grapeseed or Sweet Almond Oil. It's said to be good for arthritis and muscle pain and it has a high monounsaturated fat content and polyphenols. It's best when combined with other carriers. Caution: Sensitivity or allergic reactions.
Shea Butter has been used for centuries in Africa to protect against sun and wind-damaged skin. It's rich in vitamins A, E and F and balances and hydrates the skin. At room temperature, it's semi-soft and solid.
This oil is rich in vitamins A, D and E, and contains lecithin and unsaturated fatty acids. It's deeply nourishing and recommended for dry, aged or damaged skin. That makes it a wonderful winter carrier for your blends.
This is one of the most commonly used carrier oils because it's good for all skin types and is best known for its ability to soothe, recondition and soften. It's expressed from raw almond kernels; those with nut allergies should probably skin test before using.
Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant in cremes. Some recent studies suggest it helps maintain a healthy heart and blood vessels.
